Baseball
Baseball, for me, is not just a game. It's my one safe place that I can always look to. In the midst of life's chaos, when the world seems to be spinning too fast, and the noise becomes too loud, I step onto the diamond, and it all just fades away. Silence. The field is where I find my serenity, my moment of peace. It's where I can take a deep breath and just exist—where I'm no longer caged by the constraints of everyday life. There's something about baseball that provides a mental and emotional escape. It's unlike anything else I've experienced. It's in the focus required to anticipate the next pitch, the strategy behind every move, and the camaraderie among teammates. There is a reason we say "sit fastball; react to the curve". When life throws a curveball, baseball teaches me to adjust my stance, react swiftly to the change of pitch, and swing with all my might. On that field, my problems don't weigh me down; instead, they fuel my drive to push harder, run faster, and reach further. Baseball has always been there for me. From my early days of little league to the high school varsity team, the game has been a constant companion. It's taught me about resilience, dedication, and the importance of teamwork. And I'll never forget the surge of pride and the sense of achievement when, as a sophomore, I made varsity and then found myself starting on the team by the time opening day came around. That moment was not just a personal victory; it was a testament to the countless hours of practice, the sacrifices made, and the support of those who believed in me. Making the varsity team so young wasn't just about playing baseball; it was about proving to myself that with enough grit and determination, I could overcome any obstacle. Every time I lace up my cleats, I carry that lesson with me. Every inning, every out, and every pitch serves as a reminder that no matter what life throws my way, I have the strength to persevere. In times of loss, I will continue to lead by example in sportsmanship, learning from our experiences, and making adjustments. I also hope to continue to lead the team off the field in spreading awareness of the baseball program, fundraising, and being a role model - not just in baseball skills, but in life choices and behavior for younger athletes.
Responsibilities and Awards:
2021-2022 Indian Hills Baseball Catcher for Freshman and some JV games
2022-2025 Indian Hills Baseball Catcher Varsity

Summer 2024 I was asked to gather and be the captain of my eight grade championship team (under Coach Marty O'Brien) to play in an alumni game.

With the guidance of a family like the Complete Game Colonials, I am able to reach new heights. With them, I have learned leadership, social, and life skills to help guide me to success. At the Complete Game facility, with our motto being "Attitude = Results", it's more than baseball. It is a philosophy you need to approach life with and playing here has taught me just how to go about that.
Soccer
On that field, surrounded by my band of brothers, I am in a safe space. The sport provides an escape, a form of meditation in motion where every kick, every sprint, and every goal provides comfort. Soccer has been a constant source of joy and an outlet where I can channel my energy and emotions in a positive, constructive manner. I still vividly remember the thrill and honor of making varsity as a sophomore in high school. It was a milestone that marked my dedication and passion for the sport, a recognition that I was ready to compete at a higher level. Starting on the team in my junior year for opening day – that was an exhilarating affirmation of my growth, not just as a player, but also as a person. On the field, I am free. With every touch of the ball, my problems seem to dissipate into the air, leaving only the present moment, the immediate challenge, and the potential for victory. Soccer has taught me resilience, teamwork, and the power of perseverance. It has instilled in me the understanding that even though life may not be a game, there is joy in playing and there is strength in unity. As I lace up my cleats and step onto the field, I am reminded that this is where I belong – amidst the cheers, the strategy, and the beauty of soccer. This is where I can let go, where I can be truly myself, where every kick is a word, and every game is a story. I was able to establish my presence by emerging as a leading voice at practice and in the games. As a goalie who can see the whole field, it is required that I "command the defense" and make sure my teammates are aware of what is happening in their blind spots on the field.
