DECA
I am a four year member of DECA.
My partner for my first two years was my sister. We advanced past the regional competition and the state competition, and we earned the chance to compete at Nationals in Orlando, Florida.
For the 2024-2025 school year, I am Vice President of Marketing for DECA.
POWDERPUFF FOOTBALL
Junior year, I was a coach of a powderpuff team. Although the outcome wasn't very successful, it helped me learn cooperative leadership by staying open to the players' ideas, staying positive and having fun in the process.
The Oakland Father's Club
I have volunteered for all four years of high school.
Junior year, I took a leadership position while preparing for the Christmas Event, and recruiting volunteers to join me.
Responsibilities included setting up, cleaning up and serving families refreshments, and providing accomodations for children with special needs.
WIFFLE BALL TOURNAMENT
Baseball players from the 2023-2024 Varsity Baseball team were able to scrap some shirts together to represent our wiffle ball team in this past year's fundraiser for the Athletes Without Limits organization.
GIRLUP
Becoming a member of GirlUp in my junior year was one of the best decisions I have made in regard to club choice. Growing up in a house with two women I was motivated to work with GirlUp to combat the unfortunate stereotypes. Today I am grateful to present myself as one of the fundraising leads for the club.
Working with the club, I helped to organize several fundraising events to provide support to local women's domestic violence shelters.
I was chosen as fundraising lead for 2023-2024 school year.
BRAVE THE EAGLE
Between the year of 2022-2024, I dressed as Brave the Eagle for a variety of school events.
In the Classroom
I have spent all four years here at Indian Hills striving to be a top student in all of my classes. I work hard to prove myself, and I perform to lead my peers. I choose to lead by example every day. Throughout my time in high school, one of the classes in which I learned the most, was my English 2 Honors class during my sophomore year. My thinking was stretched and I grew as a student. With my coach as my teacher, I was able to build a bond with my teacher (Mr. Verdon) and my class.
